Baja California Spiced Burger with Lime Crema

Type: Main Dish (Burger)
Use of Baja California: Used in the burger patty mix and as a topping.

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground beef (80% lean)
  • 1 tbsp Baja California seasoning mix
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 burger buns
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 tsp Baja California seasoning mix (for crema)
  • Fresh cilantro (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, mix the ground beef with Baja California seasoning, garlic powder, and smoked paprika. Form the mixture into 4 equal patties.
  2. Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat and brush it with olive oil.
  3. Grill the patties for 4-5 minutes per side, or until they reach your desired doneness.
  4. While the burgers cook, combine the sour cream, mayonnaise, lime juice, and 1/2 tsp of Baja California seasoning in a small bowl. Stir until smooth to create the lime crema.
  5. Toast the burger buns on the grill for 1-2 minutes until lightly browned.
  6. Assemble the burgers: Place each patty on a bun and top with a dollop of lime crema. Garnish with fresh cilantro and a sprinkle of Baja California seasoning.
  7. Serve with a side of roasted veggies or tortilla chips for a true Baja-style meal.
